Macmillan USA'S Linux-Mandrake 7.1 Deluxe brings experienced users 7 CD's of applications, utilities & tools
LONDON, England - 5th July 2000 Addressing the power Linux user and high-end market, Linux-Mandrake 7.1 Deluxe is tailored for the SoHo, small businesses, and professionals that are interested in rolling out Linux technologies with easy-to-use, friendly tools. For this segment of the market, Macmillan Software announces that Linux-Mandrake 7.1 Deluxe is now available in retail stores.

Macmillan's Linux-Mandrake 7.1 Deluxe offers applications that Complete users are familiar with, including StarOffice 5.2, the powerful and easy to use DrakX, one of the easiest and powerful graphical installations programs available. As always with Macmillan's Linux products, free 24-hour technical support is provided via internet and fax for installation issues.

In addition to the most up-to-date core functionality, cutting-edge Xfree 4.0 and customized KDE desktop, Linux-Mandrake Deluxe 7.1 includes a multitude of advanced features for the savvy Linux user, including:

  • an enhanced Apache web server;
  • a highly customized version of Webmin (a web-based interface for system administration);
  • the new Reiser journalized file system;
  • more than 1,700 Linux applications, utilities, and tools (including Sun Java JDK 2 Standard Edition)
Linux-Mandrake Deluxe 7.1, which contains 7 CDs, is an easy-to-use, yet juiced up, answer to the demand for a Linux solution in small enterprise situations. User friendly and technologically current, Deluxe 7.1 is the option of choice for Linux power users.

Availability Pricing & System Requirements
Linux-Mandrake Deluxe 7.1 will be available from July at a suggested retail price of £49.99 inc. VAT.
System requirements include: CPU Intel Pentium and compatible processor (Pentium/MMX/PRO/II/Celeron/III, AMD K6/K6-2, Cyrix 6x86/M-II), 32 MB RAM required, 64 MB recommended for X Windows system. 500 MB disk space minimum, 1.5 GB+ recommended. CD-ROM drive required.
