London, 27 April, 2001 - Interior designers, custom home
builders, re-modellers and hobbyists can now easily design, visualise,
plan, create blueprints and automatically keep track of costs with
FloorPlan 3D Design Suite version 6, the latest upgrade to IMSI's
award-winning FloorPlan software. Distributed exclusively in the
UK by MediaGold, FloorPlan 3D Design Suite v6 is available in selected
retail outlets now at a RRP of £39.99 including VAT.
With its new features and including two other great software packages,
TurboProject Express and TurboCAD Designer, FloorPlan 3D Design
Suite v6 gives users the ability to walk through an entire house
over the Internet so that users can share their designs with anyone
over the Internet and friends and family can tour a new home room-to-room
as easily as playing a video game. All a viewer needs is a VRML-capable
Web browser like Internet Explorer.
"The range of this package is phenomenal. With so many powerful
tools in one, this latest edition of FloorPlan is so easy to use
it meets the needs of everyone involved in home or office remodelling
- even novices can design detailed floor plans from start to finish,"
says Jo Wood, CEO of MediaGold, exclusive UK distributor for IMSI.
FOUR ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR DESIGN
FloorPlan 3D Design Suite v6 include four essential tools for design:
- The Materials Estimator works with designs to produce an accurate
materials list. Users can edit, print or export lists into easy-to-import,
Microsoft Excel® compatible files and keep track of information
such as product descriptions, manufacturer information, room-by-room
cost allowances, quantities, units and pricing.
- The Custom Cabinet Builder can meet any design requirements.
Users can choose from over 40 cabinet symbols, then add or remove
the backsplash, toe space or nose, select the door and drawer
styles, then add the finishing touches with custom materials,
surface textures and colours.
- The Style Manager allows users to import and keep track of all
of their custom 3D symbols by categorising and adding new 3D objects
to the FloorPlan software. Users can add and delete symbols to
create custom libraries, and then customise them to match a design
and create the exact room style desired.
- The Layer Display Filter can turn entire element layers on and
off with a single click or drill-down to specific objects like
walls, furniture, lighting and appliances.
Furthermore, FloorPlan is bundled with TurboCAD Designer computer-aided
design software and TurboProject Express to give users added power
and functionality.
TurboCAD Designer allows users to create custom symbols to represent
furniture and other fixtures and keep them in a furniture library
for use in future designs. TurboCAD Designer is also the easiest
way to turn FloorPlan designs into final blueprints suitable for
construction. It has the latest AutoCAD® file compatibility,
Internet compatibility and features state-of-the-art TurboCAD instructional
courseware making it easy for users to draft projects instantly
with this powerful, precision CAD programme.
The FloorPlan Blueprint Bridge can automate the process of converting
FloorPlan files into professional looking architectural TurboCAD
drawings. This application allows users to create full 3D wire frame
views of models and organise professional presentations. Users can
also produce customisable print to scale options such as sheet size
and use insertion tools for the foundation plan, roofs, window schedules,
and plan views of different floors and views.
The Corel OCR Trace can convert scanned blueprints or print outs
of existing floor plan drawings to fully editable, vector-based
files for easy importing directly into TurboCAD Designer. Advanced
raster-to-vector functionality with features designed to accommodate
more complex, larger drawings also include the ability to scan existing
blueprints, clean up stray pixels and reduce the colours of a scanned
image.
TurboProject Express allows users to manage a remodel or design
project by tracking project scheduling, monitoring timelines, estimating
labour expenses, reviewing changes, and managing work crews. Plus,
both applications are easy to learn and offer dozens of tools, information,
and an intuitive interface.
